Within a world of constant violence it is difficult to focus on just one single type. Jones Hobbes said that " folks are naturally nasty, ” and based on today's statistics in fatalities due to terrorism by itself, that thought doesn't appear so farfetched. Throughout the span of history, faith has been known to shun those who express distinct beliefs instead of what the current religious market leaders of the time desire to enforce. Homosexuality and abortion, which are seen by simply religious extremists as acts of " sexual immorality” are often a trigger pertaining to terrorist functions. Mr. Juergensmeyer, scholar and author of Terror in the Mind of God, examines how faith based groups make use of violence to punish all those acts viewed as " sex immorality” with terrorism such as the bombings of Birmingham, Alabama abortion clinics, as well as the bombing at the mil novecentos e noventa e seis Atlanta Olympics.
